“Exit Strategy” (book seen below) is now available at most e-book venues.
In looking through a letter I wrote to friends back in 1992, I found something interesting. My friendship with them was before I was married and the couple had been and are (in the memories of my heart) dear friends even though it has been years since speaking with them.
I found written there a discription of struggle that might be helpful to you. On the other hand it may seem way out there. For whatever it is worth I am couching this in light of the struggle we often have in forgiving others and ourselves. Which is harder to forgive is not really debatable only discernable by our own heart. Who is pressing us to forsake the bondage we have put ourselves under should never be a mystery but sometimes is because of our point of view.
“Those happy memories fade to sparce details only seen through a veiled memory, often mistold by forgetfulness, or purpose. But the struggles compared are so vivid, as though the adrenalin that flowed contained a fixer that eternally froze the details, a mural of cycloramic proportion. And who was there?”
“In relentless repetition I review to find it was I…like a perspiring wrestler, fatigued, dripping that saline solution squeezed from my guts, the blood rushing to my hanging head as I look to see that the mat is really a mirror and I am in mortal combat with myself.”
“So can I surrender to this mirrored, maligned, mutant or shall I claw at he which was never meant to be my adversary, he who only stares angrily,…because I am and only gives up…when I do?”
“Who will ring the bell? Who will throw in the towel? It is I who am the time keeper. It is I who am the trainer. It must be I who rolls on my back in submisive surrender, to find that the power that pins me…is from above.”
“Romans 5:17 (KJV)
17 “For if by one man’s offence (Adam) death reigned by one; much more they which receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.” (added for emphasis)
Let us not remain the Adam of our life bringing offense and death to ourselves and others when grace received and grace distributed can reign in our life and righteousness be our covering through both the death and life of Christ our Lord, to eternal life.
Romans 5:21 (KJV)
21 “That as sin (my unforgiveness toward anyone) hath reigned unto death, even so might grace (was supposed to) reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.” (added for emphasis)
The coming times will demand our understanding. Preparing now is paramount.
You are loved as He waits for us,
Michael
