In writing “Exit Strategy” the book you see below, I was confronted by many with traditional beliefs raised in opposition to what you will read there. Many have embraced it. Many have been changed. PTL!
I wrote under inspiration once before, “The Prophet forsakes man, for the sake of man.” There can be no compromise to inspiration. True inspiration comes only from God and He confirms His work by His inspired Word. His intention is eternal.
Today I lift up a belief that will be deadly to any who cling to it. My proof is from Paul’s writings in Romans. As Bill O’Reilly says, “You are now in the NO SPIN zone.”
Read Romans 11:19-22 NASB or NKJV
Romans 11:19-21 (NKJV or NASB)
19 You will say then, “Branches were broken off that I might be grafted in.” 20 Well said. Because of unbelief they were broken off, and you stand by faith. Do not be haughty, but fear. 21 For if God did not spare the natural branches, He may not spare you either.
22 Therefore consider the goodness and severity of God: on those who fell, severity; but toward you, goodness, if you continue in His goodness. Otherwise you also will be cut off. ”
Unbelief caused many natural branches to be broken off. Unbelief can cause us to be broken off even though once grafted in. Unbelief brings severity from God although in His kindness if we repent of our unbelief we, like the natural branches can be grafted back in. (Vs 23)
So, God’s goodness was applied to you and I. Paul saying to all of us, “but toward you goodness, if you continue in His goodness. Otherwise you also will be cut off.”
We can be cut off if we do not continue in His goodness. Belief equals continuance. It is unbelief to NOT continue in the enduring love we have received. Once we have experienced it, knowing the power it has within, we are expected to continue in it, demonstrating Christ, witnessing of Him through love. Remember the root is rooted and grounded in God’s love! (Ephesians 3:17)
What was and is God’s goodness toward us? He grafts us in by salvation. We are reconciled to God by the death of His Son. Like any branch grafted, this is the beginning of our receiving from the blessed root which is rooted in God’s love. Paul says we are then “saved” by His (Jesus’) life. See Romans 5:10. This is the new source growing period we are allowed, once grafted in. Will we grow? Will we bear fruit? In the terms Christ demonstrated, will we forgive all for anything? Will we love the Way we have been loved? Will we see through the eyes of Christ the need for mercy and understanding in whatever conflict we witness or are the victim of? Will we know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge? [Eph 3:19 note to Margie] Will we be filled up to all the fullness of God? (Note to all, see Eph 3:19) Fullness? Remember, God is love. (1 John 4:7-8)
Paul said we must “continue in His [the Lord’s] goodness. Otherwise you also will be cut off.” If we have failed or sputtered in our growth, if we have not “continued,” let us repent and let the fertilizer the husbandman has applied cause fruit to bear!
No traditional belief can stand if even one verse contradicts it. No great personality can uphold what God by His inspired Word has cast down. This word to you is not compromise or destruction, it is life everlasting! It is deliverance from compromise and destruction.
If God’s kindness is anything, it is His enduring love toward all. Christ Himself has said, speaking of our continuation in His kindness, ” Matthew 24:13-14 (NASB) 13 “But the one who endures to the end, he will be saved; this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come. ” Yes, our “Christ love,” must endure all things, forgiving, interceding for all, for our own eternal protection. Amen.
“As a testimony to all the nations?” Testimony? Ask yourself this. “What will come to light in the hearts of the Jews (and unbelievers) world-wide when they see Christians under duress laying down their lives, as we intercede for those persecuting us, killing us?” What a witness, what a testimony to our trust in the Messiah that God sent, the God who received us because of their unbelief!!!!!
Even in death we have our Hope! He is not up there that we must go or down below that we must retrieve. No HE, this Word, is in our mouth and in our hearts. We have embraced His soul and now it is us!
Romans 10:8-10 (NASB) [Remember, Paul is writing to Christians under lethal duress at the hands of Nero in Rome]
8 But what does it say? “THE WORD IS NEAR YOU, IN YOUR MOUTH AND IN YOUR HEART”—that is, the word of faith which we are preaching, 9 that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; 10 for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.”
Paul is telling them how to stay saved, not get saved. They must “continue in His kindness,” they must have a death grip on the faith that gives them eternal life, that “saves” them.
These lawless we see today may become no different than the Romans. Will we be able to reach down into the depth of our spiritual gut and know, “They know not what they do,” will we intercede as Christ did for us?
This deliverance from persecution and eternal death, is the path “resulting in salvation.” (Romans 10:10) Our eternal life depends on our conviction, our continuation, and our confession. Of course, for those who must hear me say it, “empowered by Christ and the Holy Spirit.”
Our eternal safety is by “continuing in His kindness.” Our eternal loss is in failing to do so. It is His goodness and our continuation of it that leads us and guides us as a witness for Him, today and forever, Amen.
The coming times will demand our understanding. Preparing now is paramount.
In the guardianship of Christ, you are loved,
Michael
