“Hear, O Israel! The LORD is our God, the LORD is one!”

“Not that anyone has seen the Father, except the One who is from God; He has seen the Father. John 6:46 (NASB)  

“He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.Colossians 1:15 (NASB)  

”He who is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings and Lord of lords,
¹⁶  who alone possesses immortality and dwells in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see. To Him be honor and eternal dominion! Amen. 1 Timothy 6:15-16 (NASB) 

”Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.
¹²  No one has seen God at any time; if we love one another, God abides in us, and His love is perfected in us.
¹³  By this we know that we abide in Him and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit.
¹⁴  We have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son to be the Savior of the world. 1 John 4:11-14 (NASB)

How can the testimony say, “and they saw the God of Israel…” in Exodus 24: 9-11 ?

As you read it, was this the pre-incarnate Jesus they are seeing?

The fact is, all who saw God, in this portion of scripture, died without entering the promised land!

Moses and Aaron, (Anger in striking the “rock” the second time, Aaron for making the golden calf.) Nadab and Abihu, two sons of Aaron (for offering strange fire, in Lev 10:1, Lev 16:1) and the seventy elders died over the 40 years in the desert because of “giants in the land.” (Numbers 13-14) God also withheld His hand just as Jesus did and “they ate and drank and beheld God?” Ex 24:11.

Was this an extra portion of grace so that maybe they would do differently in the future God foresaw? Maybe Moses wouldn’t be angry and strike the “rock,” Aaron would not make a cow god of gold, the good report of Joshua and Caleb would be enough for the elders?

Oh dear mankind, what grace has god afforded us? How have we beheld Him and yet we go astray even though we confess Him?

Rejoice! The incarnate God has allowed us to see Him! Run back to those events and times in your heart!

Repent and find mercy! Do not remain in your guilt! Find He who is “compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in lovingkindness and truth; ⁷  who keeps lovingkindness for thousands, who forgives iniquity, transgression and sin; yet He will by no means leave the guilty unpunished…”  Exodus 34:6-7 (NASB)  

Run to God and His extra portion of grace! Under the covering of Messiah Jesus be cleansed of your guilt, repent and be made new in the willing character of Yahweh “Salvation” our hope and future.

“If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him.” John 14:7 (NKJV)  

Dear loved ones, dare we believe we have seen? Embrace the grace that is meant to uphold us in our daily trials. Let us do differently than we might do and glorify God in the highest!

We have not only seen Him but we know Him and…He knows us! Praise Yahweh through Messiah Jesus. He is the expressed image of God the Father. (Heb 1:3)
